OSCEOLA COUNTY -- A hidden dash cam catches Tommy Lyle Carlton, 35, getting into the car with an undercover police officer.
The two met in a private parking lot to discuss murdering Carlton's ex-wife.
"He expressed to the undercover deputy that he was in a custody battle with his ex-wife and wanted her dead," said Twis Lizasuain, a spokeswoman for the
Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Carlton: “I want her taken out of the way, so my son can come live with me.” Undercover Officer: "How do you want it done?" Carlton: "I don't want to know how it's done."
Undercover Officer: "How soon do you need it done?" Carlton: "Preferably before the 14th."
There is video from four days later. One hour after exchanging cash, the officer told Carlton the deal was done and uses his cell phone to show him doctored photos.
"She cooperated with us. We asked her to provide us several photos that could be Photoshopped. During the course of the investigation, she was moved to another location just for safety purposes,” Lizasuain said.
Undercover Officer: "It was perfect. You couldn't ask for it any better man. She was done."
